Technology Consulting by Engineers Who Build

Architecture audits, stack decisions, digital transformation planning, and roadmapping — from the same team that executes the plan.

What technology consulting covers

Architecture Audits

An honest assessment of your current system — what's working, what's becoming a liability, and what needs to change before it becomes a crisis.

Technology Stack Selection

Framework, database, cloud provider, and tooling decisions made with your team's capabilities, your product's requirements, and your long-term costs in mind.

Product Roadmapping

Translating business goals into a technical roadmap — with realistic estimates, dependency mapping, and the trade-offs spelled out before work starts.

Digital Transformation

Migrating from legacy systems, consolidating disconnected tools, and modernising operations — phased to avoid disrupting the business while the change happens.

Vendor Evaluation

Independent assessment of third-party software, platforms, and technology partners — so you're choosing based on fit, not a sales pitch.

Engineering Process Improvement

Reviewing how your in-house or outsourced team works — code review practices, deployment pipelines, incident response, and team structure recommendations.

When businesses bring us in

You're starting a new product and need architecture decisions made by someone who will also build it

Your current system is slowing you down but you're not sure which parts to fix first

You're evaluating whether to rebuild vs. extend an existing product

You've been burned by a vendor and want an independent opinion before choosing the next one

Your in-house team needs outside expertise on a specific technical decision

You're preparing for due diligence and need your technical stack documented and defensible

Consulting that doesn’t stop at the slide deck

Most technology consultancies hand you a document and move on. We stay. The engineers who audit your architecture are the same engineers who can build the replacement. The people who write your technical roadmap are the same people who execute the first sprint. Strategy and delivery aren’t separate conversations at HDTL — they’re the same conversation.

Frequently asked questions.

What makes HDTL's consulting different from a traditional IT consultancy?

We're engineers first. The people who audit your architecture and recommend a solution are the same people who can build it. We don't produce a 40-page strategy deck and hand it to a delivery team — we stay involved through execution.

Do you only consult or can you also build?

Both. Many engagements start with a consulting phase — discovery, architecture decisions, roadmapping — and then move directly into development. You don't need to hire a separate team to execute on the plan.

How long does a typical consulting engagement take?

A focused architecture audit or stack assessment takes 1 to 2 weeks. A full digital transformation roadmap or product planning engagement typically runs 3 to 6 weeks. We scope based on the specific questions you need answered.

We have an in-house team. Can you work alongside them?

Yes. We regularly work as an extension of an internal team — providing senior technical guidance, reviewing architecture decisions, and filling expertise gaps without replacing what you already have.

Can you evaluate our existing vendor or outsourced team?

Yes. We provide independent code reviews, process assessments, and team evaluations. We tell you what we'd tell a friend — not what the vendor wants to hear.
