What we protect early-stage startups from

The prototype trap

A demo that impresses investors can't survive real users. We build MVPs that are production-grade from day one — tested, monitored, and ready to scale.

Technical debt from the start

Moving fast shouldn't mean building something you have to rewrite at 1,000 users. Our architecture decisions account for the growth you're targeting.

No support after launch

Most agencies disappear once the invoice is paid. We attach a support plan to every engagement — bug fixes, patches, and new features are part of the ongoing relationship.

Misaligned timelines

Founders move faster than most agencies. We run short cycles with working software every week — so you can see progress and adjust course before the whole thing is built wrong.

How we work with startups across stages

01

MVP Phase (weeks 1–12)

Scoped tightly to what you need to validate the product. Production-grade, tested, deployed to real infrastructure — not a demo environment.

02

Growth Phase (months 3–9)

Feature additions based on real user feedback. Architecture decisions revisited as you learn what actually gets used. Performance improvements as load increases.

03

Scale Phase (ongoing)

Infrastructure scaling, team augmentation, security hardening, and the kind of engineering work that becomes relevant when you have real users depending on your product.

Frequently asked questions.

Can you build on a codebase we've already started?

Yes. We inherit early-stage codebases regularly. We start with an honest audit — telling you what's worth keeping and what needs to change — then build forward rather than forcing an unnecessary rewrite.

What does an MVP engagement with HDTL look like?

Discovery (1 week) → architecture and design decisions (1–2 weeks) → iterative development with weekly demos (6–8 weeks) → testing and deployment (1–2 weeks). You have visibility at every stage, not just at the end.

We're pre-funding. Can we afford a proper engineering team?

We work with pre-revenue and pre-seed startups. We structure engagements to match your stage — starting with what the MVP absolutely needs, not an over-engineered platform for a future you haven't reached yet.

What happens when we raise and need to move faster?

We scale with you. If you need more capacity after a funding round, we expand the team. If you need to hire in-house engineers and onboard them to a codebase we built, we support that transition too.

Do you take equity instead of fees?

We don't take equity. We charge for engineering work at a fair rate. This means our incentives are aligned with delivering quality work, not with your fundraising outcome.
